1 cup frozen blueberries
Half a frozen banana
1 scoop dairy free vanilla collagen: I use Dose and Co's one!
1 tbsp chia seeds
1 tbsp flax meal
Dash of almond milk
How to make:
Simply blend all the ingredients together making sure the consistency is thick! Top with your favourite fruits and granola.
The less milk you use, the thicker it will be!
What is collagen and why I have loved adding it into everything lately:
Collagen is the most abundant protein in the body that holds everything together. It is found in your bones, ligaments, tendons, connective tissues and skin, and plays a role in your overall health. Our body’s collagen production naturally begins to slow down as we age which can cause wrinkles, sagging skin and deceased cartilage. The word collagen comes from the Greek word “kolla” meaning glue. Collagen literally acts like glue to provide form and support for your body.
Collagen is composed of a series of amino acids, including glutamine, arginine, proline and glycine. Amino acids are the building blocks for proteins and are essential to synthesising hormones and moving chemical messages through the body.
