What's really happening on and off the pill...understanding the 'before and after' is the first step to supporting your transition with confidence.

When you stop the pill, your body needs to re-establish communication between the brain and ovaries through the hypothalamic–pituitary–ovarian (HPO) axis. While on the pill, synthetic hormones largely override this signalling, so the brain temporarily reduces its own pulsatile hormone messages. After stopping, the hypothalamus begins releasing GnRH again, which stimulates the pituitary to produce LH and FSH (the hormones that tell the ovaries to mature follicles and ovulate). This process can take several months as receptors regain sensitivity, ovarian follicles respond, and hormone rhythms become coordinated again.

This is why post-pill acne, mood changes, irregular cycles and fatigue are so common; there’s actually a lot taking place.

My top 6 steps to a smooth post-pill transition:

  1. Optimise Gut Health + Digestive Function
  2. Support Liver Function
  3. Balance Blood Glucose Levels
  4. Nutrient Repletion
  5. Acne Specifics
  6. Stress + The Nervous System

Coming off the pill is such a positive step in getting to know your body again. It’s a chance to reconnect with your natural cycle, work with your hormones and connect more deeply with your feminine energy. If symptoms pop up along the way (like changes in skin, mood, or cycle), try to see them as feedback from your body rather than something “wrong.

Your body deserves guidance, understanding, and support during a post-pill transition, and I’m here to help you give it just that.
